Fancy Sweatshirt

It seems everyone is on the fancy sweatshirt trend. I have always been a little leary of it, as I never could find one that I liked and was in my price range. I finally found one at H&M when I was in Texas. I liked this one because it is a color that I don’t have a lot of in my closet and it is still casual enough to wear around the house.

For the first time wearing it, I decided to pair it with a skirt to dress it up a bit more. With the ridiculously long winter we have had, I have had it up to here (my hand is way¬†over my head as I say that) with black skirts. I wear black skirts the way most people wear black pants. And I’m sick of them. Especially with leggings and boots. I’m sure I’ll come back around to then once I can wear them sans leggings, but until then, I’m done. So I went with my gray one. My nekclace was the next obstacle. Everything I tried just didn’t work quite right. A regular gold one didn’t pop enough, silver seemed to clash and my colored ones caught¬†weird in the fabric. I finally settled on this gold and peach one for a more monochrome look. I actually got this necklace when we got married on St. Croix, so it always reminds me of the week we spent down there.

In the end? I like this look, but not enough that I will repeat it. This sweatshirt might end up relegated to at home wear or other casual events this summer. I’m thinking it would work great with shorts sitting around a bonfire. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for those nights!

How are you wearing fancy sweatshirts?
