The Game that Almost Was

Today is a sad day for me. I love college football and would love to go to any game that is competitive. However, the closest D1 school is about 3 hours away. And the Gophers are not always the best. You might say, but there has to be other schools nearby right? Why yes, yes there is. Except I went to one of those D3 school games a few weekends ago and kind of felt like I was watching good high school teams play. I’m picky with my football. I want D1!

So think how excited I was when my husband’s uncle tells us he has 2 extra tickets to the Baylor/Texas game that happens tomorrow. While I wouldn’t be breaking out the face paint for either team, it would still have been fun to go to. BECAUSE FOOTBALL. All we had to do is fly down there. So I promptly started searching for flights. Much to my dismay, the tickets were CRAZY expensive. Like $450 at a minimum. Since I’m still new at my job, I can’t take any days off, so we were locked into Friday/Sunday fly dates. Combine that with 2 regional airports, and you get a recipe for expensiveness.

So today (and all weekend), I am going to pout and wish I was in Texas.

Do you have any sad stories of almosts?
