This challenge has made me realize that I use color as a crutch. I know a lot of people tend to gravitate towards neutrals like black, white, and grey, but I have never been one of those people. I think I always reach for color partially because I am so pale (hello always reaching for the lightest makeup – I even had a Mary Kay advisor exclaim I was one of the few she had ever put that shade on). And partially because I like to go against the grain. This challenge has made me step back and introduce more neutrals into my wardrobe. I know without the challenge I would have never out together today’s outfit or a few others (especially this one).
This outfit plays off the challenge outfit of the neutral sweater and grey pants. I subbed in a skirt instead and added leg warmers and a scarf (hey- I need a bit of color!)
Has the challenge pushed you out of your self-imposed guidelines?
Wearing:
Sweater: Gap Factory (similar, similar)
Skirt: Old Navy
Leggings: Express
Leg warmers: Kohl’s
Boots: Clarks
Scarf: Gap
Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick (same color scheme)
I have one more challenge outfit for you today. This one goes back to day 1. How about those boots?!
The first outfit is perfect! I love the layers and how you swapped the jeans for a skirt! Such a cute look!
