Dressing for the Holidays: Part 2

Today’s Dressing for the Holidays post is for those dressier occasions. A solid color fit and flare (or any shape that works for you) dress can be worn in so many ways. You could dress it up with heels, pair it with boots like I did, and accessorize to your heart’s content. You can even go with leggings, tights or bare legged if you are in a warmer climate (I envy you!).

I paired this dress with two different completer pieces – a boyfriend cardigan and a light jacket. Going with the cardigan dresses down the outfit a bit. This jacket adds a funky twist to an otherwise conservative outfit.

While I wore the cardigan most of the day at work, I actually like it better with the jacket.

Why it works for the holidays

  • Conservative enough for even the most old-fashioned family members
  • Dressy enough for a nicer restaurant or church
  • Easy to pair with cardigans, blazers and jackets
  • Make it your own with accessories like a statement necklace or scarf

Does your family dress up for the holiday or do you keep it casual? What are you go to items or a dressier family occasion?

Thanks! I sometimes wish my family dressed up. There are times when I feel too dressed up with a tunic and leggings like the Part 1 outfit. A dress and cardigan is always a good choice 🙂
