I got inspiration for this outfit on Instagram one day and realized I had all the pieces to recreate it. The only thing that was different is my sweater had polka dots too. I decided to just roll with it and have some major pattern mixing.
The thing that almost made me not wear this outfit though wasn’t the crazy mixing, it was the turtleneck! I know practically everyone is wearing them now, but this was the first time I’ve worn one since I was probably in 2nd grade. And while I love the feel of these shirts from Old Navy (I now have 4 of them!) there was something a bit scary about wearing a turtleneck under a V-neck sweater. My first thought when I put this on was I looked like an old lady. But after throwing on the scarf and looking at my inspiration again, I decided to keep it on and push myself out of my comfort zone. I’m glad I did now as this outfit is pretty darn fun and it definitely grew on my throughout the day.
Would you do this kind of pattern mixing?

I love the polka dots! I think that pattern mixing looks good but I haven’t really tried it out for myself.
It really is a fun sweater 🙂 I think pattern mixing is something you just have to try!
I like the outfit!! I’m always terrified to try things like pattern mixing.
Thanks! It is a bit intimidating, but it certainly adds some spice!
So nice to see white pants in the winter. Who made that dumb rule about no white after Labor Day. Love your pattern mixing, too. Polka dots are so fun. A+ outfit!
Thanks Leslie! It is such a silly rule!
