A big sweater and leg warmers? I kind of feel that I should be at a ski lodge with this outfit (maybe switch the booties out for real boots, but I digress). When I was pulling this outfit together, I was surprised at how well everything went together – between the pants, leg warmers and boots all matching and then throwing on the neutral sweater on top.
Oh – and it was absolutely freezing when I took these photos plus super windy, so don’t mind the crazy hair!

Since it is the end of the year- all of the Best of 2014 lists are coming out! Helene over at Helene in Between is hosting a linkup on the favorite/best songs of the year. I tried to remember all the songs that I have loved this year. Of course, Taylor Swift’s 1989 album has been on continuous repeat – I love the whole album but there isn’t one song that I could pick above the rest. Then it dawned on me – “Yellow Flicker Beat” by Lorde is by far my favorite song this year. I have literally been listening to the entire Mockingjay soundtrack since I got it (I even preordered it). And Yellow Flicker Beat is one that I can listen to over and over again. I’m a major fan of the Hunger Games (even though I still haven’t seen Mockingjay 🙁 – I WILL fix that over Christmas) and the song fits so will with the story (I have ready the books multiple times). The song just gives me chills – especially this line because it just exemplifies the entire story arc.
They used to shout my name, now they whisper it.
What is your best song of the year? Go check out the linkup and see all of the other favorites!
