I don’t know about you, but I am excited that the challenge has finally started! Since the shopping list came out, I’ve been thinking of ways to pair everything. If you follow Puppies & Pretties throughout the challenge, you will find out that I take a very liberal interpretation of everything. There is one thing you won’t see; and that is camo. I know it is all trendy right now, but I just can’t do it. I live in a very rural area and camo has it’s reasons for being here, and that is for hunting. Not for fashion. Nope. Not going to happen. Sorry for those fashion camo lovers out there 🙂
Do you have anything on the list that you just won’t be wearing? Any item you are really looking forward to?
For my first Style Challenge insipired outfit, I went with coral and grey. I absolutely love this blazer and try to pair it with whatever I can. Once I saw that a coral cardi and a grey tee was on the list, this outfit came to me (with a little Pinterest help). I paired it with my leather-like leggings for more of a tough girl feel and boots. A lady I met for the first time the day I wore this said I was cute as a button, so I’ll take it 🙂 I’m really liking coral and grey lately (see Monday’s post for proof), and I can’t wait to take it into summer.
Wearing:
Dress: Gap (similar)
Blazer: Gap (similar)
Leggings: Spanx (similar)
Boots: Merrell (similar)
Necklace: Kendra Scott (love this one)
Bracelets: Loren Hope, BaubleBar
Belt: Kiel James Patrick
Purse: Laudi Vidni
Here is a quick peak of other outfits that are challenge inspired that I’ll be featuring soon!
Love that grey dress, and super cute belt. Did that come with the dress, or is it separate?
The belt is separate. But this dress definitely lends itself to belt wearing. It makes it a no brainer!
That belt is super cute!
That gray dress is great! I am a camo lover! I have all kinds of clothing items that are camo….not for hunting though 🙂 I won’t be wearing anything floral or pastel regardless of the list. Stopping by from the link up 🙂
I really love this dress too. It actually feels like a sweatshirt! I’ll take the florals and you can take the camo 🙂
That sounds like a plan!
Love the versatile and pretty fit+flare knit, gray dress. The muted pink blazer also in a knit, looks great over it. =)
Welcome by to see my latest. Thanks.
Thanks ADA. You really can’t go wrong with an easy fit and flare!
I love your interpretation of day one. I’m not doing the camo either, but mostly because I can’t find a pair I like!
Thanks Lana! I couldn’t even bring myself to try on a pair. When I was at Gap Factory a few weekends ago I sat and stared at the camo pants and finally threw my hands up and walked away. People probably thought I was crazy 🙂
coral + grey…I think this is one of my favourite outfits you’ve done!
Thank you Deena!
Love that blazer!!! Coral and grey is perfect together!!
Definitely! I keep trying to figure out how to wear it more 🙂
I LOVE that outfit! the coral and grey is a great pairing
I’m not 100% on camo either but bought some leggings to test it out.. we’ll see
Good luck with your testing 🙂
Always gorgeous. Love the gray and coral but also the mint with the striped dress. Your jewelry is spot-on, too. Glad to be linking up with you again!
Thanks Leslie! These are some of my favorite linkups!$
I love the coral and grey, Alison. The colors look really good on you and I’m loving the entire look in general.
