The Style Me bloggers are back with a summer series! I can’t wait to see what everyone in the group has going every other week again.
This week we are featuring April showers bring May flowers. First things first though, below is what I wore during the day. I’m pretty excited that I finally was able to layer a collared “shirt” with a sweater. I always end up feeling puffy when I try it with a regular collared shirt, so when I got this Old Navy eyelet shirt dress, I figured I had to try. And it worked great! So I guess I just need to get more fit and flare shirt dresses!
But, for my pretend rainy day, I added my Baffin foldable boots and an umbrella.
These boots are the best thing for surprise rainy days. They pack up in a cute little purple bag, so they don’t take up much room. I actually leave them in my car so they are easily accessible. They easily unfold and you can just pull them on and you are ready for rain puddles! Of course, the bright red color makes for a little sunshine on a gloomy day.
PS: how awesome is this ridiculously large umbrella? I found it in an unused office at work and new I had to use it for my photos. You really can’t go wrong with an umbrella that matches my rain boots. 🙂
Wearing:
Dress: Old Navy
Sweater: Lands’ End (similar)
Boots: Merrell
Rainboots: Baffin
Purse: Danielle Nicole
Necklace: Lia Sophia
Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick
Alison you look so cute in that picture with the umbrella! I have never heard of Baffin boots, but I am going to have to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Karen! These boots are seriously handy. And much cheaper than Hunter packable boots that I was initially looking at.
Boots that come in a cute bag? Sold! I’ve gotta check those out:)
Packable rain boots…brilliant!
Right?!? So much better than the big bulky ones that I use at home.
You always look sunshine-y even holding an umbrella. Great travel boots. Maybe I need to travel somewhere wet and rainy so I can justify buying a trench and wearing my rain boots more.
Thank you Leslie! Maybe a trip to Seattle is in your future? 😉
Those boots are perfect! Love this look on you. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you Lana! Hope you have a great weekend too!
Cute red boots and they look great with your outfit!
Thanks Carrie!
Oh my gosh you are too cute! I’ve always tried to do the dress with sweater over it and it never works out for me either. But yours looks great.
Thanks Sarah 🙂 I was pretty excited when this outfit came together.
foldable boots are BRILLIANT!!! love that they’re red too!
Right!?! They had several other colors but has to go with bright red.
I need that sweater in my life!! Super cute…and looks fab on you!! And I have about a half dozen umbrellas but I still want a huge one. Yours is great!! And also…i need a photographer!! 🙂
As soon as I saw this sweater, I knew I had to have it! I have a umbrella that I thought was big until I saw this one! I think everything would be small compared to this beast 🙂 I don’t have a photographer either, but I tripod and a remote work pretty well 🙂
I love eyelet! How fun that your dress can double as a “skirt-and-sweater” set? And of course I love the nautical sweater!
I’m really loving eyelet too! This dress is the only thing I have right now, so I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot.
I love the red accessories with that outfit!
Thanks Deena!
