Welcome to the newest series on Puppies & Pretties! Weekend Edition will include things that are a little outside my normal everyday posts of fashion, style, and puppies. It won’t be an every week kind of deal, but Weekend Edition will pop up from time to time when I want to share something a little different; whether it be beauty, books, or anything else that pops up in my brain. Hope you enjoy this little detour! And let me know if you have anything that you would like me to talk about 🙂
When I was contemplating starting Puppies & Pretties, there was one thing that almost held me back. It wasn’t the thought of posting pictures of myself all over the internet. Or the technical side of blogging. I think I have a fun style and wanted to share it. The one thing? It was my skin.
Throughout my life, I’ve dealt with acne-prone skin. I’ve tried a bit of everything. From store-brands, department stores, and even Norwex cloths, nothing seemed to help clear my skin. I have given up using anything labeled as “acne” because it would dry out my skin so much, and didn’t really seem to help anyways. And don’t even get me started with using makeup to camouflage it. We all have that friend that can take pretty much any makeup you hand her and it magically looks amazing. I’m pretty much the polar opposite. Its a good day when I put on eye shadow. My norm is BB cream, blush, and a bit of power. My skin tone doesn’t help me either. I once had a Mary Kay makeover and the lady exclaimed that she had never gotten to use the foundation she needed for me. While I know I’m pale, I didn’t realize I was that pale.
Since starting P&P, I’ve just tried to work around my skin issues. If I was having a noticeable breakout, I’d try to angle my face so you couldn’t really see it in shots. Or I would feature more neck-down shots. But it has seriously been getting old. Fast.
So when I got offered the chance to try Adovia Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask, I figured; why not? The first time I put it on, it was kind of weird. The consistency is really thick, so there isn’t much spreading happening. I looked pretty funny with all the weird splats across my face. The second time I used it, I knew what was coming and was able to put it on better. After I washed it off, my skin just felt better. You know that feeling when your skin is nice and clean and happy? That is what I got. I don’t remember the last time that happened. As I continue to use it, I’ve noticed my skin looks better too. While my acne is still there, it is less noticeable. Any full on breakouts are clearing up faster and not looking quite as ugly. My thoughts can pretty much be summed us with this, “WHAT IS THIS MAGICAL CONCOCTION?”
In all seriousness, I really like this Mud Mask. My skin feels better, it isn’t as dry, and my acne is being kept on the down low. This will be staying in my bathroom until it runs out and I’ll likely order it again.
