There is something iconic about a polka dot print. It plays well with any sort of outfit – whether casual or a bit more fancy. This polka dot skirt was a great find at Old Navy this spring that I know I’ll be able to wear for seasons to come. The swingy style works well with my body type and can go with a number of different tops. For today’s outfit, I paired it with a simple Piko top tied up for a bit more definition at the waist. Tying shirts like this has always been a struggle for me, so when I was able to finally get the knot to stay, I jumped for joy. Do you have any tips and tricks to get shirts to stay tied?
To top (or bottom, ha!) the outfit off, I added my little white sneakers. I feel like I am channeling my inner Taylor Swift with this sort of getup 🙂

Skirt: Old Navy (similar)

And maybe the most exciting thing in today’s post, a giveaway! I’ve teamed up with the aforementioned blogger friends for a HUGE $200 gift card giveaway to Gap Brands. This means you could spend the winnings at Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, or Athleta! So get to entering 🙂
Such a great, summery outfit! I love polka dots! The sneakers are a nice touch, too!
Thanks! I almost didn’t wear the sneaks, and I’m so glad I did after seeing the pics.
CUTE! I love tying mu tees too! Have you tried gathering them on the inside to kinda of get that Express Knot Tee effect? I plan to post a little tutorial on the blog at some point but haven’t gotten around to it yet. You basically gather a little fabric on the inside of the tee shirt and secure it with a hair tie (or rubber band). 🙂 XO
I’ve tried the hair tie/rubber band thing, but it always seems to fall out 🙁 I can’t wait to see your tutorial, maybe I can finally figure it out!
Cute, I still haven’t mastered the knot tying, so yay for you! 🙂 Love that skirt!
Thanks Sarah 🙂 When I got the know, I was like OMG I can’t touch my shirt all day because it will probably fall out 🙂
Adorable – totally Taylor-ish (and that bag is fantastic).
Thanks! This bag just might be my favorite bag ever.
LOVE that outfit. Great shapes, colours and prints. I think this may be my fave of all the ones youève done.
Aww, thanks Deena!
Wish you could come knot my tee shirts for me. That just looks so fun with your polka skirt and little white tennies. That bag is the perfect accessory. Love the picture where the skirt is kind of standing out on either side, runway perfect.
Thanks Leslie! The bag has been on repeat ever since I got it. Seriously the best summer bag. I couldn’t believe that shot either. Talk about perfect timing!
That skirt is perfect on you. It looks so comfortable and pretty. Love it!
Thanks Lana! It is super comfortable, who would of thought Old Navy would become my go-to for fun skirts?
Long flowy dresses are my favorite.
Good choice Shaina! That is one my favorites as well.
Love your mint and navy outfit – and you wear it so effortlessly! And now, I’m off to read your post about creating clothing budget!
Thanks Karen!
I also love mint and navy. Great outfit and that purse is the best!
It is such an great combo. I literally squealed when I got this purse in the mail – quite possibly my favorite purse I own!
that skirt is adorable!!! love the purse too
Thanks Shaunacey 🙂
My go-to Summer out fit is a few different sun dresses. They’re just easy, colorful and keep me cool in the Florida heat & humidity. 🙂
Good choice Natalie!
I have the same “perfect summer dress” in five different patterns — it’s a lightweight, non-iron fabric that manages to be both work-appropriate and cool at the same time. My ultimate go-to!
Those are the BEST! I’m a firm believer if something works really well, get it in multiple colors.
cut off jean shorts and a cute tank top or tshirt.
Good choice Colleen!
A boho type dress and sandals are versatile for my summer outfit.
Boho is always fun!
