I don’t remember the last time I participated in a gift exchange that wasn’t a holiday function within my family. I was a bit hesitant to join, but I’m so glad I did! I had so much fun buying my items to send out to Leslie at Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After – I even got it sent out early! After that, I just had to wait until my gift came in the mail.
One day, my husband sent me a text saying it must be “packages for Alison” day. Oops. Don’t you hate when things you order all come on the same day? And of course it is a day when you are not home. All together, I had three packages, with one mysterious one from Canada. Because Canada is obviously quite mysterious, eh? The lovely Shaunacey from Confessions of a Frumpy Mommy sent me some pretty awesome Canuck things. (PS – every single time I try to type Shaunacey’s name, I do it wrong. I have to go back and check and then do some good ole’ hunt and peck typing to get it right!)
She obviously knows the best way to my heart is through clothes and food, because that is what she sent! First, lets talk about this top. It is from RW+Co, a store I keep hearing about from the Canadians in the group. The fit ended up being perfect! I obviously had to put together an outfit with it right away. I decided to go with a festival-inspired – with the patchwork like print top, shorts, and booties.
Wearing:
Shirt: RW+Co
Shorts: Old Navy
Booties: Old Navy (similar)
Sunglasses: Country Club Prep (black version)
Necklace: Gorjana
As for the rest of the box -FOOD. I love food. First up – a bag of Horton’s coffee. While I’m not a coffee drinker, I will be passing this along to other members of my family that I’m sure will be ecstatic. Then there are those chips. When I first opened up the box, my first thought was, “ketchup chips, what?” I gave them a try, and they are … different. Not bad, but not something I would normally eat. Ketchup chips might be an acquired taste that I have yet to acquire. 🙂 I shared a few at work and one lady had the great idea of putting them on a burger – now that I could get behind! And the last bit of deliciousness – chocolate. You can never go wrong with chocolate.

See? I really did try the chips!
Thank you again Shaunacey for sharing a little bit of Canadian goodness with this Minnesota girl. Hopefully one of these days I’ll finally be able to make a trip and visit my “neighbors” up north, eh?
Be sure to visit all of my other blogger friends to see what they got in the gift exchange!

This looks so fun! I love participating in gift exchanges/blog swaps. The shirt is great! I’m with you… Not sure I could do ketchup chips. But who can turn down chocolate?!
It was super fun. Especially reading everyone’s posts. I hope I can do another. The chocolate was delish, it actually ended up being my lunch on Friday 🙂
I sent Sheila canadian chips and coffee to. Haha.
Too funny! I guess you and Shanacey think alike 🙂
What a beautiful shirt – it looks lovely on you! I recently tried ketchup chips (thank you Deena) and I liked them! Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you Lana! Glad you enjoyed the Canadian delicacy that has been shared with us 🙂
Bahahaha- this post cracked me up. I am now salivating and craving ketchup chips..at 10am.
Ha! Glad you enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with enjoying some chips at 10am 🙂
yay the shirt fits you great! Looks great on you!!
Ketchup chips are an acquired taste I think but I LOVE them! lol must be a Canadian thing!
Glad you liked your gift!!
Thank you so much Shaunacey! I LOVE the chocolate – its delish!
Great shirt! What a cute take on patchwork. I have never ever heard of ketchup chips but would love to try them. I laughed out loud at your comment about all of your online orders arriving on the one day you aren’t there to get them into the house before hubby comes home. I feel the same way. But my PC orders a new baseball bat and red tee shirt every week, so he can’t say much!
Too funny! My husband doesn’t buy a lot, so I always get those side-eye looks when I get packages.
P.S. I absolutely loved the thoughtfully selected items you sent me! You are a doll. Consider yourself hugged and adopted by this grandma!
I’m so happy you enjoyed it all!
Great Shirt!! Those ketchup chips do look different but I love the burger idea!!
Now if only I could have burgers one of these days!
Love all of this. Truthfully, I had the candy bars {yum}, loved the potato chips and coffee too! Great shirt!! Love it lots!
Thanks Carrie! Shaunacey picked out some great items.
That shirt is so awesome! And we pretty much got all of the same food item. Mr. LOVED the ketchup chips that he got, pretty much polished off the bag in 2 seconds, lol!
Ha, that is too funny! I really like the shirt too and can’t wait to wear it more.
