Weekend Editions: SLIMQUICK Pure Drink Mix

Losing weight can be tough. As I get closer to being out of my 20s, I’ve noticed that losing weight isn’t nearly as easy as it used to be. Now, I need to work at it a little harder, and that is something that I’m really struggling with. So when I had a chance to try SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Drink Mix, I jumped on it.

SLIMQUICK Pure is a mixed-berry drink mix that you can put right in a bottle of water (think Crystal Light packets). It is supposed to tackle the 6 reasons why women have trouble losing weight including:

  • increasing metabolism
  • reduce appetite
  • boost energy
  • reduce excess water
  • support hormones
  • reduce stress

I thought this would be a great product for me. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out that way.

  • The taste: While the berry flavor wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great eaither. It also tasted much better when the water was very cold, as in sitting in the fridge overnight. I found it got a bit chunky/chalky when the water wasn’t really cold.
  • The quantity: The first few days, you have between 2 and 3 servings. By day 4, you are supposed to have 4 servings a day. Plus you need to take into consideration that you shouldn’t drink it within 5 hours of bed, which for me is about 5 or 6 pm. Now, I’m used to drinking almost 100 oz of water a day plus a couple cans of pop, those 4 bottles were a lot. Even though I replaced the pop for the most part with SLIMQUICK, I found it difficult to drink 4 bottls between the times of 7 am and 6 pm while still giving myself a break between servings. Plus, my water was never able to get cold enough. I wasn’t about to buy a bottle of water each time to make the mix.
  • The feeling: With any weight loss item, you know your stomach/body will feel something. But I really struggled with how SLIMQUICK made my stomach feel. You know that feeling when you are not quite sick but your tummy just isn’t right? That is how I felt all day when I drank this and for at least an hour after. By that time, it was almost time for the next serving. After a bit of research, it was likely the caffeine that was giving me issues. One serving of SLIMQUICK has 250 mg. For comparison, a 12 oz can of Diet Mountain Dew has 54 mg and a 16 oz can Rockstar Pure Zero energy drink as 240 mg. That is a lot of caffeine to consume in one day.
  • The hunger: This was likely my own fault, but there would be several times throughout the day when I would just end up STARVING. I’m guessing I didn’t time my food consumption right with my servings of SLIMQUICK. I always tried to eat something with each serving, but it is likely that I needed a bit more of a meal with it.

Because of these reasons, I stopped drinking SLIMQUICK. Overall, I think most of my problems came from user error. It was especially hard to be at work when your stomach just doesn’t feel right. I feel if I wasn’t stuck in the restrictions of the workplace, it would be much easier to use.

Thank you so much for your honest review of this drink mix. I have tried and (but not to the degree the label said – consuming 4 in one day!!). I never saw much much difference that I do when i drink Dasani Drops. I would love to hear that it actually helps you “lose” weight, but alas….not really.

I think it is one of those products that is too good to be true. If you follow the instructions to a tee and are eating healthier, I’m sure you would lose weight, but it could just be due to eating healthier.
