Hiya friends! Today is an exciting day. The Blended Blog ladies are sharing our Style Perspectives! We all come from different walks of life, climates, and ages so there will be all sorts of variation for each prompt. Be sure to visit everyone to see how they styled today’s prompt; outer layers.
Mother Nature has been a bit of a tease lately. We had temperatures in the 50’s this weekend. Then it snowed several inches on Tuesday. But the good news is that the deep freeze seems to be a thing of the past so I can pull out my fun winter coats instead of my big parka. I picked this one up at Old Navy last year from the clearance rack and I love it. Since it is maroon, you know I’m going to pair it with blue. It is my go-to color combo this winter. It adds a great pop of color without feeling like I stick out because of my bright summer clothes. I need color in my life to get through the dark days of winter.
How would you style a jacket like this?
Wearing:
Old Navy jacket (similar color, similar shape)
Lands’ End sweater (similar)
Old Navy skinny jeans
Clarks boots (similar)
Lia Sophia necklace (similar)
Shop anchor sweaters

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT AMAZING CRANBERRY COLOR COAT FIRST OF ALL? I love it. I also love love/adore that anchor sweatshirt underneath. If it has anchors I must have it. You look great, Allison. Great new linkup, girl!

They most certainly are! And you can never have enough!
Love how you have combined the layers and the colors!

Love how you’re transitioning your coat to spring. These are the tips I need up here in the Great White North!!
At least with color we can pretend it is warm out 🙂
I love the color combo of the jacket and the anchor top! It gives it a bit of a spring vibe but still appropriate for the cooler weather!
Thanks Chelsie! It makes it feel like spring isn’t too far away 🙂
I love the nautical theme. And, are weather is trending like yours – spring 60s last weekend and snow/ice now.

Isn’t the weather crazy? But I’ll take 40s and 50s over -10 and snow!
Such a pretty color, and I love the big pockets in front!
Thanks Lana! The pockets look fun, but I always miss them when I try to put anything in them 🙂
Love your coat! And the necklace adds such a nice pop of bling.
Thank you Autumn!
Oh you always have the cutest necklaces!! You look fab! That jacket is great!
Thanks Angela! Necklaces are my favorite jewelry items 🙂
I am a sucker for a colored jacket. Especially red.
I’m a sucker for them too. Its nice to add a pop of color when it is cold out!
I love that tote!
Thanks Neely! I’ve been using it constantly lately. Gotta love Christmas gifts that you end up loving!
I’m a sucker for reddish coats/jackets too. I hate to confess but I have three. Yours looks like a perfect one for casual wear.
That is pretty impressive considering your recent closet clean outs. I think I have 3 too if you include blazers.
LOVE the nautical shirt! So cute 🙂

Thank you Edye!
So glad to see this jacket up close after admiring it on Instagram. Love that rich red with the blue. Couldn’t tell if the coat had buttons or zipper or was just open. In my “research” for the TBB post, I saw many jackets with a similar shape to yours. Very flattering, great piece. Wishing you spring weather soon.
These cocoon coats are so great! That you so much Leslie 🙂
Love that anchor sweater…and the ones you linked to! Actually I have one! I think I’ll wear it tomorrow with my read coat! Thanks for the inspo!!
Yay! Anchors and red for the win 🙂
