The other day I was looking on Facebook and saw all sorts of posts on weddings. It struck me then that I’ve been married over four years. Going back a little farther, I laughed to myself about when we got engaged a year earlier. I was in between temp jobs at the time so I was bumming around the house all day. The husband (then boyfriend obviously) asked if I wanted to go to Outback Steakhouse. That’s an easy answer #duh. I thought he was acting a little weird, but brushed it aside. We ate deliciousness and then headed home. When I got home, I ran upstairs to change, because I hate staying in “real” clothes any longer than I need to. I live in sweatpants and sweatshirts at home. (Am I the only one that does that?) Anyways, I walk back downstairs to the living room and he drops to one knee and asks me. I said yes (obviously). But I couldn’t wear the ring yet because it was in two parts that needed to be resized and soldered together. My husband actually picked out the entire ring; the stones, the setting, the whole shebang (#hesakeeper). The next day, we drove the hour down to the jeweler in a little town in Iowa to get it all sized. I awkwardly tried to figure out what size I needed – I’m in between sizes. Once I finally decided we were on the clock. With time to kill, we headed over to Hardee’s for an early lunch (so romantic right?!). After the allotted time, we head back the the jewelry story and pick up my ring. We headed home to tell friends and family.

Our wedding rings
While I wouldn’t change the way he proposed and picked out my ring in secret, I always love hearing stories about how couples pick out rings together. Lucky for me, a few years later I get the chance to pick out my own ring. Anjolee allowed me to pick from their newest Engagement ring collection. The great thing about Anjolee jewelry is that it is so customizable. For my ring, I went with a gemstone because don’t we all want to feel a little like Kate Middleton and her non-diamond ring? Plus amethyst is my birthstone.

Anjolee ring
The Anjolee website makes it a breeze to create your own ring. You can pick your metal, carat, size, and even add an engraving. You are able to see a full 360-degree view of the ring so there are no surprises. There is even 3D view to see the ring on a hand!
If you are not in the market for an engagement ring, there are plenty of other sparkly pretties on the Anjolee site, go take a look!
I’ve been loving wearing my new ring and know I’ll wear it for years to come. How did your significant other purpose to you? Was it a big surprise or did you plan it together?
Thank you to Anjolee for sponsoring this post
