My love for swing dresses knows no bounds. I can’t get enough of ’em. Since I’ve been wearing them more, I’ve been trying different ways to style swing dresses. I decided to reach my to my middle school/high school years and wear a button up chambray shirt open over it. Seriously, does anyone else wear button ups like this all.the.time back in the day? Anyways, I like it. It doesn’t make the swing dress lay weird because it is a bit swing-y itself. Because what is the point of wearing a glorious swing dress if your top layer (blazer, cards, etc) squishes the dress down in all sorts of weird ways?
To complete the outfit, I paired it with my short Liberty Black boots. I love how the blue accents match the chambray top almost to a T. This ended up being one of those perfect spring outfits for those cool, crisp days. Plus it will be a great transition into fall as well.
So tell me, do you like swing dresses and chambray? If you are in the market for some new chambray, I pulled together all sorts of pretties together at the end of the post. Button ups not your thing? Don’t worry, chambray comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes now!

I used to wear open button-up shirts ALL the time in middle school! I do it occasionally now but I still feel kinda like my pre-teen self when I do it. Haha. And I’m totally on the swing dress bandwagon. I ended up buying that Old Navy striped one that I know you have…and I’m wearing it today!
Haha, that is so true! It’s a bit better with a dress, I don’t think I could do it with pants! And hooray for new swing dresses, I love that one.
I love a good swing dress. It can do no wrong and no matter how you are feeling about body or weight it looks great!
You are so right!
I’ve been in a major swing dress phase! Bought two last week but they were too big, boo! Lately I’ve been finding, if they fit, they are too short, but if I size up they are too big…hmm…
Oh, boo! That does seem to be the con of swing dresses, the length can be tough!
Love that red wine color on you!
Thank you!
You look amazing. I loved your dress and boots!! 🙂
