I don’t know what it is, but elephants are having a moment lately. You could even call it the print of summer (along with pineapples). Red Dress Boutique (one of my favorite stores) had publicized this elephant sundress awhile ago and I jumped at buying it the first time. Alas, I missed the first shipment because I took too long picking out something else to get so I could get free shipping (please tell me I’m not the only one to do that #ShoppingLogic). So you can imagine my happiness when it came back. And you better believe that I had something else already in my cart and ready to check out as soon as the elephant sundress became available again.
To style my new elephant sundress, I went simple. I paired it with neutral sandals and tote then topped it off with a silver statement necklace. I wanted the elephants to shine! I’ve actually worn this to work, but added capri leggings for extra coverage and warmth (#CubeTundra) and a black cardigan. I’m already brainstorming more ways that I can wear it, even into winter, maybe with a turtleneck?
Have you been following along with Create28 with The Blended Blog? This look encompasses 2 looks for this week, summer sundress and summer swing dress. I’ll count that as a win in my book 🙂 Be sure to come back on Wednesday and link up your Create28 looks with us!

Super adorable pattern. I can see why it haunted you!
Definitely! I’m glad I was able to pick it up finally!
Elephants!! I want one too! 🙂 You look great, and LOL #cubetundra…haha, so true! You’re bundled up like it’s winter to walk outside and see that it’s 100°, haha.
Thanks Sarah! It is a terrible thing when you have to choose between dressing for the weather and dressing for the air conditioning.
Love the pattern!!
Thanks Christine!
I love wearing new pieces in a simple way the first time and then more and more creatively as time goes on. I would have worn this the same way!
It is fun to build up to crazier outfits 🙂
I love this! I have a family obsession with elephants and have to buy everything they are on!
Thanks Mary! This is my first elephant item, but I’m in love!
I love elephants and this dress is so adorable! It looks great on you too!

It is just so fun!
Love love love that sundress! It’s so cute, reminds me of the Lilly print too! xo
Thanks Adriana! It is definitely Lilly-ish, but without the Lilly price 🙂
I love elephants and would love an elephant print dress. The one you’re wearing is super cute. I also love the red long sleeve one you have pictured.
Thanks Shann! I really love that red one too.
Your dress is SO fun! I love how you styled it and love the statement necklace.

Oh you and your swing dresses and fun prints and big totes!
That might need to be my new tagline. Swing dresses, big totes, and big prints 🙂
I’m all about dresses in the summer. This one is adorable! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Angela!
I love elephant dresses and that one looks great on you. I had one last year that was one of my all time favorites.

Thank you! This is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well.
That dress is so cute. I’m obsessed with elephants (and pineapples actually). I have one similar that I bought at H&M last year I think, but I loved how you styled it!
Thank you Donnica!
I too bought an elephant-print black dress this year and I love it. Now I want an elephant tee and shorts too lol. Love your dress and how cute it is on you, Allison.

Nothing wrong with adding to your elephant collection 🙂
Elephants are the new puppies and kitties, I think. I have an elephant room! Need that dress to wear in my elephant room. Love the perfect accessories and the pic of you demonstrating the swing-ability. One of my all time favs!
You totally need an elephant dress for your elephant room! Thank you Leslie 🙂
This elephant print dress is just too cute! Love how you styled it with the pretty collar necklace! -Ginger

Thank you Ginger!
Adorable! I love elephant prints, too. Actually, it just reminded me of an elephant print skirt I have buried somewhere in my closet from about 15 years ago…I should probably get it out!
