So during the last Shopbop sale, I caved and bought a pair of Hunter boots with gift certificates that I had. I haven’t really worn them much, mainly because it has been you know, winter. But the few timesย I’ve worn them I haven’t been impressed. What is so exciting about them? I kind of wish I would of held out and bought a pair of colored ones rather than just glossy black. Maybe thats my problem? I have a pair of boots that are pretty darn similar and they cost about $40 (or so) that I wear when I need to go outside when it is muddy. And they work just as good. So for now, I suppose I have a pair of “dressy” rain boots (ha!). Because “dressy” means that they don’t have poo on them (oh the joys of living on a farm!). I have an itch to get rid of some items in my closet, and I’m leaning towards selling these. But I want to give them one more chance, so we shall see.
Have you ever been frustrated with a purchase that you thought would be just dandy? What did you do about it?
Besides the boots, I’m really digging this outfit. Anything with plaid and fuzzy-ness is pretty much a win in my book. Add a bit of sparkle and you have a great outfit.

A Cute plaid shirt and Hunters is literally one of my most favorite outfits ever! So CUTE!!
It is a good one!
Everything about this look is perfect! That is all!
Thanks Carrie ๐
I love this outfit with your fancy rain boots. I saw Hunters on sale on Zulily the other day and almost bought a pair, then remembered, oh yea it rains like 5 days a year here…LOL! Love that plaid and that bow necklace is so cute!
Haha, yeah probably not an investment that you need ๐
Hunter AND Sorels?? You’re on a boot roll.
Yep, just a bit ๐
You can’ t go wrong with a plaid shirt and Hunter boots. I love the way you dressed it up with the necklace.
Thank you Beth!
Plaid and Hunter boots just go together SO well! Especially with the classic reds and blacks! Love this.
They really do!
Love this look, and it’s totally something I would wear. I hear you on the Hunter boots – I have a knock off pair that I love. I don’t understand why Hunter is so expensive.
I don’t really get it either. But it did make for a good outfit!
I definitely still need to invest in some hunter boots. So useful and cute!
They are! But I’m starting to think the knockoffs are just as good!
I have the glossy black Hunter boots, too! I know what you mean when you build up the hype, buy something, and then, regret it! I know the feeling. I love your look, though.

Thanks Lisa! I’m glad I’m not the only one with those feelings.
So, what’s the verdict? Did the boots stay or go? I love this outfit. I hope you will wear it again and will find more pairings for the boots because they are adorable. I remember the bow necklace from awhile ago, coveted it then and now.
For right now, they are staying. But we shall see once spring rolls around.
