Hi friends! I’m back a bit earlier than expected from my break. Thats what I get for signing up to do The Blended Blog hop about summer style without writing it down in my planner! Don’t forget to head over to Deena at Shoes to Shiraz for what I’m sure is fantastic post.
I don’t know about you, but this time of the year I always have a major internal struggle. I want to wear all my summer clothes while it is still warm out, but I’m also looking longingly at my fall clothes. But I know what happens after fall. Winter is coming and that is never fun in the Midwest. So I’m focusing on all the fun summer styles that I can squeeze in before it turns too cold.
One of my favorite things to wear in the summer is maxi dresses. However, now that I work from home one day a week, I feel like I haven’t worn mine nearly enough. I recently got this one from SheIn and it would be perfect for your next beach vacation. It is light and airy and would make for a great coverup. I can totally see being on the beach during the day and then throwing this on for dinner. To add a bit of fun, I threw on this patterned kimono because I felt the blues just worked so well together. Top it off with a long pendant necklace and you are have a great casual summer outfit.
What are you loving to wear this summer season?
Wearing:
SheIn maxi dress (c/o)
Kimono via Forever 21 (similar)
Kendra Scott necklace
Dagne Dover petite tote
Clarks sandals (similar)

You look fabulous in blue and I adore this combo. I for one am ready for fall clothes!
Thanks Carrie! I’m getting close to wanting sweaters 🙂
So cute, I agree with Carrie, I love you in blue! Yes to all of the Fall things, we’re getting hit with a heat wave this week, boo! Bring on Fall! Although Fall here can be hotter than summer, haha!
haha, I think our definitions of fall are a bit different 🙂
I’m loving the maxi and kimono combination! And you get to work from home once a week?! I’m so jealous!
I do! One of the positives of having a job that pretty much just needs a computer 🙂
Oh man, I love this whole outfit. Must get it now.
I could totally see you rocking this!
I am in love with this color blue. I have a maxi that’s a similar blue and I love it. I really like the kimono you paired with yours. I never would have thought to add layers like that but it really looks so pretty.
It really is a great dress. Layers are always fun!
I love a maxi in the warm weather. It’s so humid where I live today so I am wearing a maxi for the breezy breathability!
Maxis are perfect for that!
I love maxis and they’re great transitional pieces — especially if you pair them with a lightweight jacket, blazer, cardigan, etc. I hate to see summer go but I *DO* love me some fall clothes 🙂
Those are my feeling exactly!
